CAI benchmarking
is a voluntary scheme for manufacturers of aerials within
the industry.
The scheme is designed to set minimum
standards for technical performance of UHF TV aerials based
on the requirements for DTT reception. The scheme does not
address issues regarding the build quality of the aerial.
The
standards are determined by an industry wide committee
who monitor the scheme through detailed procedures and testing.
Benchmarked
Aerials are graded in Standards 1 - 4 and the following
is a definition of those Standards.
Standard 1
Should provide adequate DTT
reception even for homes on the fringes of coverage areas.
Standard
2
Intermediate standard, suitable for use
within the coverage.
Standard 3
Minimum standard required
for good coverage conditions.
Standard 4
Recommended where better wideband
performance is required.

At AUDIO VISUAL LINK we design and commission multi point IRS, MATV, SMATV systems.
However large or small your project, we have the knowledge and expertise to install a system tailored to your requirements with all the professionalism you would naturally expect.
We pride ourselves on the extremely high level of after sales service we provide and in the unlikely event that you may encounter a problem during the 12 months warranty period we are certain that you will not be disappointed with the level of service you receive.
We also offer annual maintenance contracts for complete piece of mind outside of warranty.
MATV (master antenna television)
This type of system utilizes one single television aerial and one launch/head end amplifier feeding any number of television outputs.
For the provision of five channel terrestrial and digital television.
SMATV (satellite master antenna television)
This system is very similar to MATV but carries one or several satellite channels to each output, for example on each television there could be ten or so channels programmed in to each television. The first 5 channels would be terrestrial channels, with the remainder running from satellite receivers. These extra channels could be allocated as required, for example , Sky Sports, MTV, Sky One etc.
This system is particulaly suitable for hotels as all channels are preset to the stations allocated and cannot be altered by the end user.
IRS (integrated reception systems)
This system is ideal for blocks of flats and apartments as it enables a resident to receive Satellite digital, Terrestrial digital and analogue television signals as well as DAB FM radio signals all from a single outlet.
